5.5 Relative And Absolute Reference
Excel recognises the cell references in a formula as either relative or absolute.
5.5.1 Relative References
If we enter a formula in cell F2 as = B2 * D2. Excel takes this to mean that it should
multiply the contents of the cell four places to the left by the contents of the cell two
places to the left.
5.5.2 Absolute References
If these are used, no matter what copying is performed the same cell reference will
be used.
To make a reference absolute, plave the insertion point before the reference and press
F4.
